At the beginning of each year, a Duffy Directory is given to every family which contains important information about our school rules and programs.
The Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) is given to our 3-5 grade students in March of each year.
Our community center, Hillcrest Avenue Neighborhood Outreach Center (HANOC) provides a homework center and counseling groups for our students and their families after school every day. We work with Webster Hill School and Wolcott School to provide services to all of our students.
We have a very active PTO who provides funding for many school activities and programs. They meet ten months of the year on a Thursday evening in the school cafeteria. Dates are announced in our weekly newsletter.
Duffy's Student Council is a dynamic group of children from Grades 1 - 5. We rely on their enthusiasm to lead us in School Spirit Days throughout the year. The Council also sponsors several community service projects. The Officer Board positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary, are held by 5th grade students elected by their peers in November of every year.
Our community newsletter, The Dateline is published every other week and sent via e-mail, or if requested in print. The Dateline is sent every other Thursday and is also available online. The newsletter provides information for our families and community about the PTO activities, school programs and special events that take place at Duffy.
